The instructions below will show you how to install speakers remove door panels – Toyota Tacoma
Before you begin the speaker installation, READ ALL DIRECTIONS and REVIEW PICS BEFORE STARTING!!!
Roll down ALL your windows prior to starting the installation.
Remove the sail panel as shown in the picture. Simply pull straight out.
Ensure the white clips are attached to the sail panel. If any clips remained on the door, be sure to attach them to the sail panel now.
In some cases the whie clips will stay in the door panel. Per previous slide, remove them from door.
Gently pull upward. Start with the end closest to the tweeeter location.
Notice the “hook” on the rear side of this power panel. You will slide the power panel to remove.
To remove the harness, press to release the harness lock and pull away from window power panel.

There are two screws on each door. The first one is located above the “lock”. The second is located below handle that you use to close the door. The front doors are covered with a little plastic beauty cover. Use a small screwdriver or knife to “gently” pry the square open. They are attached on one side and have a “notch” on the other. You will pry from the notch side. It takes very little force to open the cover so be gentle not to scratch your door panel.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws. Mark each screw so you know which one goes on top and which one goes on the bottom.

After removing the two screws you will pull the panel away from the door. Start below the speaker opening (bottom of the door) and work your way around to the top on. Your fingers should fit and allow you to pull around the speaker area as shown
Slowly work the door panel away from door.
Gently pull on the panel. NOTE: The part of the door panel that is attached to the window is “hanging”. Do NOT pull on the top part of the door panel. Notice the gap between the door and the panel.
After you have “popped” out the bottom portion of the door panel you will “lift” the panel upwards to remove it from the door.

Door panel removed.
Remove the 4 bolts using a 10 MM socket or wrench. The bolts are not very tight.

Remove the wire harness from the speaker.
Factory speaker ready to be removed.
The speakers may appear to be “stuck”, pull gently from bottom of speakers.
Speaker removal.
Before you attach the new speakers to the tacotunes.com speakers adapters ensure that the speaker magnets fit properly and do not hit the window.
The speakers fit and do not interfere with window operation.
After insuring that the speakers fit, attach the speakers to the mounts.
We reccomend using a drill to start the holes and make it eaiser to install.
“Hang” the door back in place.
